Free Immunizations with the Harris County Immunization Outreach Mobile Team

The Galena Park Branch has partnered with the Harris County Public Health & Environmental Services to provide free immunizations.  The immunizations will be provided primarily to children ages 0-35 months.  Adults are also welcome to attend the event and receive any required or recommended immunizations.  As of January, 2008, the IOMT provides most vaccines to qualified children (children on CHIP, Medicaid, no insurance or under-insured) and adults (no insurance or under-insured) at no cost.

An adult must be present so consent can be obtained for all minors (age 17 and younger).  Individuals needing shots must bring all of their immunization records to assist the staff in determining which vaccines are required during the IOMT, ( Immunization Outreach Mobile Team) visit.  For the adults who may not have current immunization records, don't worry, a new record can be started.

At the present time, we are tentatively planning to have this event during the middle of November 2009.  All individuals who are interested are asked to preregister for the event by calling or visiting the Galena Park Branch.  Once we reach the minimum number of interested individuals, more information will be provided.
