I was out of town and suddenly found myself in need of another book to read while traveling. My local drug store had a limited selection of mysteries, but I picked up J.A. Jances’ Deadly Stakes as my best prospect. This is her 8th book featuring Ali Reynolds, former newscaster. She, her boyfriend B. Simpson and their employee Stuart Ramey take on a complicated case.
